Always choose a size too big over a size too small. Boyfriend-style jeans get the thumbs up. Jeans with a muffin top do not. Large cosy jumpers are wardrobe must-haves. Do not pair them with bright tie-dye leggings, a headband and a choker. You will not look edgy. People who try to look edgy are generally not edgy. Pair stripes and spots; pastels and bolds; navy and black; velvet & leather; vintage and new; shiny and matt; denim and denim. Leopard print is always a good idea. Snapbacks are rarely a good idea. Wear beanies with everything. But not a bikini. Mix and match bikinis. Don’t mix and match socks. I like trainers and frilly socks. Shoes can make or break an outfit. Pumps are either hit or miss. Mostly miss. Crocs are not an option. Especially when paired with socks. Whether you are five or eighty-five. Style does not fade with age. Style isn’t what you wear. It’s how you wear it. And don’t forget the golden rule: there are no rules.
